My review: My Vanishing Country: A Memoir by Bakari Sellers

My Vanishing Country: A MemoirMy Vanishing Country: A Memoir by Bakari Sellers

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Bakari Sellers is an interesting person and has written an interesting book. A politician who knows who he is, where he's come from, and where he's going.

I chose to read "My Vanishing Country" for several reasons, but primarily because I wanted to learn more about the scourge of poverty in the south. I tend not to focus on the continued need for social justice there, beyond the need for continued efforts to stop the disenfranchisement of African-American voters there, as in other parts of the country.

This book is also a tale of striving, caring, and how both can move you and people ahead. A good read, one which I learned much from.
