Naomi Esch, a young Amish woman, has a life filled with her work at a bakery, keeping bees and helping to raise other people's children. She thinks marriage has passed her by. When circumstances lead her to care for her deceased best friend's children, Naomi suddenly longs for more. She is faced with choices that she has not had to confront, previously, and her decisions are not easy when they do not fall into line with her father's wishes for her.
I enjoyed Naomi's Christmas by Marta Perry. The characters wrestled with real life problems while still staying true to the values of Amish life. It was a good story.
