I have read a few books about the influenza pandemic of 1918-19. Each, in its own way, has been interesting and instructive. This title is also both interesting and instructive. It traces the causes and development of the influenza pandemic of 1918-19 as well as other influenza outbreaks such as the Swine flu and Hong Kong flu outbreaks. I learned much from this book, and especially appreciated the time taken to interject the personal biographies and efforts of several of the scientists at work to research and try to explain why the influenza pandemic of 1918-19 was so virulent and so deadly. If the subject interests you, as it does me, this book is a great read.
